Being near PSU probably bids well for this place given the lack of parking and late night hours... while having excellent food certainly helps! We found Filipino comfort foods as well as funky fusion dishes (burgers) as well as Spam fries! We came primarily for Ube desserts... and they were just ok. Nonetheless, we had a great overall experience and will be back.
The food here was something I haven't had before (bihon), and it was pretty delicious! Though, not my cup of tea at the end. Which is totally fine. The service was great and food came out quickly. Knocking off a star since the music in the restroom was so loud (which in hindsight, is a good thing depending on what you do in there). Vibes otherwise were good. I love how they offer cucumber/lemon water which is nice and refreshing when walking and exploring the area
Hunny Beez is my local spot when I'm too tired or busy to cook, have nothing in the fridge or they have a special I need to try. I've had most of the menu throughout the last year. The specials are truly my favorites. The lasagna and Filipino spaghetti blew my mind. Recently, during burger week the SPAM fries made my day. When I get sick, the Chicken Tinola Soup helps with the healing process. If I'm in need of a cookie, the ube chocolate is my go to. Super easy to order online. The staff is incredibly friendly. Quality and fresh Filipino food, would definitely recommend! We were in town and had to try this out. This hole in the wall restaurant provides a homey atmosphere with friendly service! We ordered the adobo wings, pork lumpia and turon for dessert. Everything was so good and fresh!
I saw this place while looking for a Filipino restaurant in Portland. The place is cozy and they have a decent menu of items to choose from. I tried their rice bowl deluxe rice bowl with lechon and longanisa. This was really good and highly recommend it. It's a self-service place, but the staff/owners were really responsive and friendly. I did get their Ube Cheesecake to go and ... that was amazing as well.
Got to try their Deluxe Bowl with Sirloin Steak and it's pretty flavorful! I was expecting it to be heavier and saltier but the flavors and seasoning were spot on. Beef was tender as well. Love to see new spot exploring underrepresented cuisines in town. Would be back to try some other interesting items of theirs like the Shanghai Wrap and Ube desserts!
